Opposition Criticism and Skepticism
Despite being welcomed by sports enthusiasts in the state, the announcement of the Coimbatore International Cricket Stadium has also been criticized by the opposition.
Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai, the party’s Coimbatore parliamentary candidate, dismissed the promise as “joke of the year,” accusing the DMK government of not delivering on its previous promises.
There is, however, a strong feeling of support from Coimbatore and the Tamil Nadu sports community.
